The lower number the better. If you are already in the top 50, you are pretty successful.

Success is relative Its all about identifying the keywords with least competition. In true sense, getting listed in TOP 3 in your targetted keyword is success and TOP 10 is moderate success.

Yes, its too tough get good rank in search engines.. However, by marketing and having lots of content in your website (like articles and repeated words), your site can be listed in search engines.
