Attenda delivers a good night's sleep at Travelodge

Attenda Limited, the Always On Managed Services company, today announced that it has been chosen by Travelodge, the UK's fastest growing hotel company, to provide a hosting service for the Travelodge website, www.travelodge.co.uk. Under a three year contract, Attenda is managing a production environment and a disaster recovery solution.

The number of Travelodge customers booking via the website has increased from 17% in 2003 to 80% today. The ability to make reservations online is ideal for customers wanting to find and book a room quickly and easily at any time. It is therefore critical that the website can respond to the growing demands placed upon it.

By driving more business through its website, Travelodge can encourage more operational efficiency and sustain a long term programme of price cuts to open the hotel market up to everyone.

As a result of its low cost business model, Travelodge room rates start at £15 per room, per night in a roadside hotel (Supersaver) and £26 per room, per night in a city centre hotel (Saver).

Dee Brown, Director of IT, Travelodge said, "Customers are increasingly booking early online to secure the best deals. We needed a partner to host our infrastructure reliably, give us first class service and provide scalability to match our growth.

Russell Fox, Technical Project Manager, Travelodge, said, "The migration of our system went quickly and smoothly, was completed to a tight timetable and within budget." The transition project included a load test to check the performance and scalability of the site before it went live.
