Sprint (NYSE:FON)(NYSE:PCS) announced today that A2D Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of TGS-NOPEC, has signed an agreement to implement the Sprint's collocation and hosting needs. These services are offered in the Denver-based Sprint E|Solutions Center equipped to host critical Internet applications.
The technical and structural capabilities of this facility are unsurpassed. Redundant power supply, automated environmental monitoring, highly secured intrusion and access control, and 24x7 staffing are complimented by the consistent global network architecture.
The initial application to be hosted at the facility is A2D's LOG-LINE Plus!, which not only allows customers to acquire digital well log data through an e-commerce portal but also provides a tool for the management of their proprietary well log data. By moving the LOG-LINE Plus! application to the collocation facility, A2D technologies now offers the industry more efficient access to critical data with unparalleled security and redundancy.
"This collocation implementation represents a continuation of technical leadership for TGS-NOPEC and A2D and provides our customers a secure and robust environment in which to both acquire and maintain their data," said David O. Hicks, chief technology officer, TGS-NOPEC, "The release of the new LOG-LINE Plus! application is an integral step in our ongoing strategy to provide industry-leading applications that provide our customers with access to the data they need to be successful in the most secure environment available. We will continue to deploy additional data types through this centralized e-portal and provide a secure and accessible mechanism for easing access to and delivery of crucial data for the oil and gas industry."
"Helping customers simplify the complexity of their information management is what Sprint is all about. By making this business-critical information more available and reliable we're helping A2D achieve their business objectives," said Peter von der Linde, vice president of sales and service delivery, Sprint. "Our E|Solutions Centers reflect Sprint's unique ability to give customers a new level of value beyond collocation and hosting. Customers can now come to us at any stage of a business challenge and get complete customized or pre-configured Internet-based solutions for their specific needs."
