Universal Broadband Communications (UBC), a next generation telecommunications provider, has executed an Asset Purchase Agreement with uNetCommerce, Inc., a website design and hosting company located in Newport Beach, California.
Under the agreement, UBC will purchase certain assets and capabilities including, but not limited to, web site and hosting network equipment and software and uNetCommerce's distribution channel with over 500 active agents. Additionally, uNetCommerce's two main principles, Steve Tirella and Carlos Blanco, will join the UBC team to assist with integration and interoperability. Mr. Tirella joins UBC as marketing director and Carlos Blanco as sales director.
"Continuous improvement is a way of life for us," commented Mark Ellis, UBC CEO. "uNetCommerce was selected on the basis of its complementary value offered to our customers and the strength of their distribution channel. The key benefits are on many dimensions including marketing harmonization of their selling power of 500 new agents and technical competencies in the website design and hosting with our expertise in telecommunications. The combination of new products and opportunities for distribution that uNetCommerce brings will help drive new business, open new markets and enhance UBC's competitive advantage."
"The focus of these asset purchases crosses both horizontal offerings and vertical markets," commented Danny Lee, UBC Advisor and President of A. G. Spencer Corporation. "It adds a wide array of technologies that UBC can fully leverage to increase the effectiveness of its core telecommunications business while providing mission-critical website developmental tools for its customers. This serves to facilitate reduction of customer acquisition cost and retention of existing customers with value-added benefits through a continuum of services. It's where profits are realized and where UBC pulls ahead of the competition in a tough market."
