Digex, Incorporated (NASDAQIGX), a leading provider of managed Web and application hosting services, today announced The Reader's Digest Association, Inc. (NYSE:RDA) has selected Digex to support its new online initiative, ChangeOne.com, the site of the new official Reader's Digest diet. A longstanding client, Reader's Digest has turned to Digex for fully managed hosting solutions since 1998.

Officially launched in January 2003, ChangeOne.com's breakthrough approach to dieting provides members with an online healthy eating program, recipes, up-to-date news and advice from experts on food and fitness, and is custom designed based on weight-loss goals and food preferences. With round-the- clock encouragement and support from online weight-loss buddies, members can also connect to share success stories with one another at ChangeOne.com's online forum, while tracking their dieting success each week. The stories and feedback shared online will help capture successes and challenges of the diet and help members establish best practices.

John Hastings, Reader's Digest health editor and Mindy Hermann, a registered dietician and former American Dietetic Association spokesperson, co-authored "ChangeOne: The Breakthrough 12-Week Eating Plan: Lose Weight Simply, Safely and Forever," released on December 28th, 2002 to 10,000 stores throughout the United States, to coincide and promote ChangeOne.com.

Digex is managing the entire ChangeOne.com Web site on a secure, reliable and scalable environment. The platform is built on a multiserver Unix environment with a SQL Server 2000 database and ATG Commerce. By taking advantage of Digex's e-Enablement Solution for branding, marketing and other corporate online requirements, Reader's Digest can cost-effectively deploy new Internet initiatives and continue building relationships with loyal consumers.

"Having a longstanding relationship with Digex, they understand our business and our needs. With Digex's hosting solutions, we can offload some of the difficult and mundane IT functions, focusing our energy and resources on reaching Reader's Digest customers," said Rich Williams, manager of the Internet Systems group at Reader's Digest. "Therefore, we felt that building on our existing environment at Digex would be the most efficient way to launch our latest online initiative, ChangeOne.com."

"Reader's Digest is a model for how to grow a renowned brand to reach and interact with consumers through new mediums like the Internet," said John Callari, senior vice president of sales & marketing for Digex. "Digex understands that with every new venture, it's critical that Reader's Digest continue to provide a positive customer experience. For these reasons, it's imperative that we support ChangeOne.com with a reliable and scalable Internet infrastructure, ready to respond to market demands."
