Cable & Wireless today announced that myExodus(TM), the customer portal for Exodus, a Cable & Wireless Service, has received top honors in a recently released Tier 1 Research report "Gaining More Control v2.0" that reviewed portals of more than three dozen hosting and managed service providers.

Tier 1 designated Exodus' searchable billing and invoicing system the best in the industry. According to Tier 1, customers are able to further maximize the value of myExodus when they use it in tandem with data from the partner applications. With this approach, Tier 1 states, "the myExodus customer portal would vie for top score in the industry."

The report notes that Exodus has evolved the portal significantly over the last six months. As part of its ongoing commitment to provide the highest level of customer service and support, Exodus enhanced its remote management tool based on customer feedback. Exodus "made it an impactful tool for clients as well as many different segments of Exodus' employee base on a daily basis -- something most xSPs are missing."

According to Tier 1, current service providers with the strongest portals will win more customers and be better positioned for profitability. Based on the enterprise trend to outsource some or all Internet operations, service providers like Exodus must leverage technology in order to deliver operational efficiency and convenience to customers and partners. Other research corroborates the need for stronger customer portals. By 2004, Meta Group predicts that portals will be an integral part of doing business to provide content, process automations, integration, development, knowledge, and collaboration management capabilities.
