Sprint Corp. announced today that it is strengthening its services to customers in the Rocky Mountain and Northwest regions by opening a Sprint E|Solutions Internet Center in the Denver Metropolitan area. Pre-selling for the state-of-the-art, award-winning Colorado facility has already begun and is available for customer occupancy today. A grand opening event is scheduled for December 12, 2001.
For locating its new Metro Denver Internet Center in Adams County, Sprint E|Solutions will be presented a Capital Investment Award from Adams County Economic Development. The award ceremonies will be held on Nov. 15, 2001, recognizing Sprint's new multi-million, 150,000-square foot Colorado facility.
Further support comes from one of the Colorado Internet Center's earliest customers, Englewood, Colo.-based Destination Hotels and Resorts (DH&R). DH&R is the sixth largest property management organization focused on premier independent properties.
Kathleen McIntee, Chief Financial Officer of DH&R, said the following about the company's decision to work with Sprint E|Solutions as its managed hosting provider: "Sprint E|Solutions exemplifies the highest level of customer service, solutions and capabilities. They understand our business priorities and met all of our requirements to ensure a secure and reliable infrastructure for our Website. They provided a flexible solution while lowering our IT costs, allowing us to focus our time on our core business."
In addition to offering managed hosting and collocation services, the Colorado Internet Center offers customers a central "point-of-business" for obtaining complete solutions to their unique business needs. Customers may visit or contact the center for customized solutions in supply chain management, customer relationship management, sales force automation and enterprise resource planning systems.
The center also will provide solutions for today's most critical IT infrastructure needs, including services for wireless networking and mobile computing, business continuity planning, security, and mission-critical data storage.
"There is a misconception that all data centers are created alike," said Keith Paglusch, president of Sprint E|Solutions. "Our Internet Centers -- Sprint's unique next-generation data centers -- give customers a new level of value beyond collocation and hosting. Customers can now come to us at any stage of a business challenge and get complete customized or pre-configured Internet-based solutions for their specific needs."
The Colorado Internet Center, the eighth Sprint E|Solutions has opened across the country, sits directly on Sprint's high-speed, fiber-optic Tier 1 backbone, enabling performance with unsurpassed reliability needed for mission-critical applications. In addition, Sprint's comprehensive support provides a variety of managed-server applications and transport services, all backed by highly focused customer service.
The Colorado Internet Center features a secure and reliable physical environment to safeguard the data that is at the heart of every business. This world-class facility is custom designed with raised floors, HVAC temperature-control systems and private, locked cabinets and cages. In addition, the Internet Center offers a wide range of physical security features, including smoke detection and fire suppression systems, in-facility security personnel, and a 24x7 secured access system, as well as video surveillance and security breach alarms.
The Colorado facility joins other operational Sprint E|Solutions Internet Centers in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Kansas City, New York City, Reston, Va. and Sacramento, Calif. Additional centers planned for opening in 2001 include Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, Calif.
The Boston and New York City Internet Centers recently received third-party assurances on the adequacy of controls and the availability, security, integrity and maintainability of their Web-hosting, managed-hosting and collocation services under Statement of Auditing Standards Number 70 (SAS 70) and SysTrust assurances. The Colorado facility is on the list of additional Sprint E|Solutions Internet Centers under evaluation for certification in 2002.
Web Hosting, Managed Hosting and Collocation services offered by Sprint have achieved certification under the SunTone(SM) Certification and Branding Program. These services offered in the domestic Sprint E|Solutions Internet centers meet the SunTone Program's availability, reliability, security and performance standards.
