High Speed Access Corp. (Nasdaq: HSAC) and Express Technologies Inc., of Louisville, KY, announced today that Express Technologies has purchased certain assets of Digital Chainsaw's web hosting business. Digital Chainsaw, a St. Petersburg-based web hosting company owned by HSA, serves approximately 6000 customers. HSA had announced its plans to sell the web hosting unit in August 2001, as part of its efforts to reduce expenses and focus on businesses which it believes have near-term profit potential. Daniels & Associates, the Denver-based media and telecommunications mergers & acquisitions specialist, represented the buyer.

Express Technologies, which owns and operates HalfPriceHosting, a Windows-based web hosting provider, and CFXHosting, which focuses exclusively on hosting sites developed using the ColdFusion development language, will operate Digital Chainsaw as a new division of the company.

"Digital Chainsaw fits with our plan for providing diverse and powerful hosting solutions to small and medium-sized businesses," stated Darren G. King, president of Express Technologies. "We look forward to building upon Digital Chainsaw's commitment to superior customer service and technological support."

Commented Gregory G. Hodges, chief operating officer of HSA: "It was very important that we find a buyer for Digital Chainsaw that would continue to provide high quality service to our customers, which is what we found with Express Technologies. They have an outstanding reputation in the web hosting arena for top-notch technology and customer support, and their concern that our customers experience a seamless transition is an excellent indicator of their customer-first philosophy."
