I am interested to know how many other people have had the same dishonest service from Aplus.Net as I have had?

Aplus.net stole my money!

I signed up for a $200 a month Dedicated Server plus $200 set up fee. Aplus took the $400 and I got nothing. I was NEVER able to access my PLESK control panel, no one from Customer Support would talk to me and when they did I got arrogance and a dont care attitude.

After one week of major frustration and lot's of yelling, I cancelled my order and demanded my money back. I got an email from a manager at Aplus advising my money would be refunded in full.

After one week I got another email from Aplus Accounts advising that I needed to give a 30 day notice. I lost my $200 for the first month and $200 for a setup which never happened and I NEVER got to use my Server.

Since then no one from Aplus.Net will return my emails. I have also since found out that Aplus.Net have been struck off the BBB in San Diego which receive in excess of 300 serious complaints each year!

THIEVES!!!!

Be very aware of Aplus.Net

chargebacks should be the last resort but if needed the ability to use them is there for your protection - you can contact your bank regarding doing that.

I have used aplus.net for a few years before starting my own hosting business. I also referred many of my web site design clients to them. I never had any problems myself or was aware of any problems that my clients had. I am sorry to hear about what happened to you as it is unfortunate and unacceptable, but I still stand by Aplus.net saying that they are one of the best providers.

check the terms and conditions - if they are "ok" you won't be able to do anything. if they are promising service that they don't deliver or they don't follow their terms you can request a dispute for your monay through your bank. Good luck!

I had a similar problem with them... although not nearly as bad as yours!

A few years back they were running a domain registration service. They had a very poor control panel for managing the domains.

I wanted to transfer my domain to a different registrar, so I "deleted" my domain from their control panel a few months before it expired so that they would not automatically charge me for renewing it. I was planning on starting a transfer soon.

To my horror, a few days after, I found out that by "deleting" my domain from the control panel, I had actually made it available for others to register.... even though my registration period was not yet over! I had paid for a year of registration, yet they somehow managed to cancel it a few months short and re-sell my domain to another person!

I could not beleive that such a big company would rip me off like that. Maybe it was partially my fault for not being 100% sure about what I was doing with the control panel. But why the hell would anyone want to give up a domain half way through their already paid registration period??? It doesn't make sense. I think it was a scam to steal nice domains from people when they make the same mistake I did!

I bet they made a nice bit of money off of my domain. Well, it was relatively new and not that popular. So after several fights on email and phone... I just gave up and I never used any of their services again.

I don't let a chance go by without mentioning my bad experience with them either. So I reckon they have lost a lot more money by robbing me of my domain than they would have if they just let me go in peace. It feels good to see them suffering

Good luck with your problem.... if I was you I would not let this go... $400 is a lot of money!!

I wish aplus.net all the worst... I hope they go out of business and I hope they all become homeless!!

Is it even possible for them to release a name early? I thought that the way it worked was that it went through ICANN and the registrar only kept track of the WHOIS, billing, and registration periods...hmmm that is very odd though.

I didn't think it was possible either! I thought that when you register a domain for a year.... it is yours for a year! That is why I thought "delete" means to remove it from my account. I never expected it to be released for other to register it.

I don't know what kind of scam they were pulling.... I guess they re-sold the domain and changed the registrant information to the new owner!

Damn aplus.net... I am getting mad just thinking about it. I hate getting ripped off like that.

Did they actually re-sold the domain or someone else just register the domain because it was available?

There is a big difference because in the first case you should be the owner no matter what kind of interface you used to delete - unless there is something in their TOS which mention about the "delete" domain option.

My advise is to use different company to register your domains since most of the hosting company do not have DNS control panel or even if they have is poor since this is not their primary business.

From what I hear from different places aplus has a lot of issues caused by poor management

Horrible stories
Well next time I would register your new name at an accredited registrar before you choose your host.
There are plenty of those around just like reputable hosts but usually people are so terrified after having one bad experience after another (registrar, hosting, etc) they become very skeptical, and with good reason.
I think in whs1's case he probably would have been okay if he would have went to a registrar and put in a transfer request. Most all gaining registrars only tack their normal reg. fee onto the already expiring date and they seem to work seemlessly.
I recommend 000domains.com alot for registration or transferring.

I get a call the other morning with some telemarketer for aplus asking me some crap about dedicated servers here I think I have a customer and then he tells me yeah I found you thru google ok great I say what type of server are you looking to get into , what do you plan on hosting ? Then he says we have dedictaed servers, and now Im really confused. They were calling me to tell me they can offer me better service then my current provider. Mind you Im on the do not call list, and they had no regard for that, and basicly use the whois and search engines to spam/solicit new customers and actualy other companys customers. I got to give it to them for trying but to anyone with any sense that is just plain spam over my damn phone line at 9 am in the morning. If I lived near there office I think I would consider a postal workers position and show them how displeased I am. Bas****
