I`m wripping my hair out trying to put together a good billing system. I`m un-able to contact autorizenet`s tech support. They put me on hold for literally an hour every time i call...so i can`t get help. This is ridiculous.

Do you guys (and most hosting companies) use authorizenet as the gateway? I hate authorizenet, they`re terrible.
The billing system that is available is crap. Isn`t there any other gateway i can use other than authorizenet, cybercash, or linkpoint?

You guys don`t have a special billing system right? You just collect the info through an order form then bath upload it at the end of the month at authorizenet, right?

please please heeelllpp meeee.

I feel your pain, Frosty. We went through nine levels of Hell trying to deal with billing, and we ended up having to develop a proprietary billing system that does our batch and individual uploads to Cybercash.

Anyone else out there got any solutions to the billing system blues, other than DIY?

Thank god someone finally responded before i shoot myself. This billing thing can be a real pain in the neck if your new to all this crap, especially if you have resellers to bill.

So you use cybercash instead of authorizenet? I just found out that verisign bought cybercash. Maybe i should switch to cybercash instead? I`m confused still.

I`m paying a web designer 80 bucks (i think) to construct a very simple order form for me so it can transfer the data to the virtual terminal at authorizenet where i can batch upload it later. Is 80 bucks a reasonable price to pay for someone to put together a simple order form? I hope i`m not getting ripped off.......

So you developed your own billing system? i wanna buy it! This billing stuff is a real pain in the.........

billing is not worth suicide. Take a deep cleansing breath and relax.

Thanks to Verisign, it's practically one-stop shopping for ecommerce. They own the #1 domain registrar, the #1 and #2 SSL certificate issuers, and now the #1 credit card processor. We've had good luck with Cybercash and we've been using them for years.

that depends...if the form works-because what's important isn't the look of the form, but the script behind it-then 80 bucks is a good deal for the design of the form and the scripting. If it looks good but doesn't work right, then you are back at square one.

Good luck

cool thanks for the answers...maybe i don`t need to shoot myself afterall.

Oh wait, just got one more question: If i use cybercash then i don`t need to have anything to do with authorizenet, right? Because cybercash is basically the same thing as authorizenet but it`s better i`m sure. Maybe i should switch then.

And i`m not getting my form put together by that web-designer. I just found out he`s a very very young guy who works at CIHOST....and CIHOST wanted to charge me if he were to put the order form together. So i`m looking for someone else to put one together. CIHOST ain`t getting a hold of my credit card.

CI Host

You might want to check on the advertising/offers forum here as well as thecomputerguy's webmafiaforum for a designer who can do your form and the script.

Thankx, yes i`ll definitely check there then. I hope i can find someone to put together an order form for me very very soon.

Gosh, this billing is kind of a pain in the behind.
