Has anyone heard of Btwixt Web Hosting? I recently started hosting with them and it appears that they are an outstanding service. I wanted to know more about them prior to moving more of my sites there. I have been with them for about 30 days now and no troubles at all, they have a nice forum, knowledge base and support ticket system all behind accounts, so there is not garbage from others just posting in there. Any other information would be great. They are located at www.btwixt.net.

ya good place to invest but if they have more than one plan then it would be better for their buyers to have some choice.

They also don't have a phone number listed on their site. This is usually a red flag when choosing a web hosting company.

I also notice that they host adult sites, would I have to worry about them being a target of legislation or hackers wanting to get rid of the other. I can't afford for my sites to be down because of the types of sites they allow on their servers. I have always been told to stay away from servers that allow adult sites, what is your feeling about that rule of thumb?

I personally do not see what the big ordeal with adult web hosting is. I have been hosted by other web hosting companies in the past that allowed adult content, and I never had any problems. Any web site is subject to hacking attempts I would imagine, regardless of hosted content.

Im guessing that if a web site web master doesnt take proper security measures (regardless of content) they are subject to hacking. I have always used secure measures when connecting to any web site I have designed. (ex: sftp or shh)

Besides, I would guess that any web hosting company that knows what is constantly goin on with their servers, would also catch any attempts of someone trying to hack into someone's web site.

Actually hosting adult is not as bad as hosting IRC. More problems come when someone is upset about what someone else said and then the try to flood the network the owner of the site has there.

True, I agree IRC can have its ups and downs, but I dont think most people are running IRC servers that are connected to major networks (which have the most problems). And a web hosting company that has explicit rules banning such connections, I believe, will fare much better off in the long run when dealing with IRC servers and such.

Anyways, a good hosting company should always monitor all thier servers to make sure everything is running properly, regardless of the type of hosting, cuz even a normal web site can be DOS attacked.
