G'day,

Has anyone had any bad experiences with iTechSolve

I quite like their quantity, price and Ensim interface, but is there any goss on these guys.

Thanks for any thoughts or comparisons.

Honestly for the client side, many favor cpanel.
However for a system admin, its a totally different story. =P.

I never heard of the company you have mentioned however.

After weeks of fossicking and comparison, I finally moved my hosting reseller account from Hostway to iTechsolve

So far so good. The move was flat out like a lizard drinking and the support was good as gold! In fact, on one occasion we actually received a phone call from them in response to an email support request - and we're in Australia. How good is that?

The main selection criteria for us was finding a reseller account with the correct balance of space vs traffic to match the average usage of our client base, at the right price. The packaging and pricing at iTechsolve struck just the right balance for what we wanted.

I thought I'd add this update to my earlier post, as no one seemed to know anything this company. Now you know a bit about them, at least from my perspective.

So far, I'd say I was "happy as a pig in (that censored 4 letter word that describes what you don't do if you don't eat!)", but I won't.

I signed up with iTechSolve about five days ago. I've haven't been able to access my site except through the initial rollout thing you have to do. I was told in the email they sent after setting up my account that I would have to manually change my domain nameservers, but they don't provide any instructions on how to do that. I emailed the support people, but the only repsonse I received wasn't very helpful. I've just got a minihosting account so I guess I'm not that high of a priority, but I am still withholding judgement as I realize these things can be a bit quirky.

If anyone knows what the heck I need to do to change my domain nameservers I'd be much obliged if you provided the info.

Thanks!

The process is fairly simple if you have access to your domain information. Your web host should provide you with a set of nameservers and IP addresses to enter at your domain registrar (generally the IP addresses won't be needed).

At the registrar you'll be looking for something such as 'Change Nameservers' or 'Edit DNS'. You may also see 'Register Nameservers' but the latter won't be what you're searching for.

Once in the 'Edit DNS' area you'll see two (or sometimes more) nameservers. eg:

ns.youroldhost.com
ns2.youroldhost.com

Just delete these, and replace them with the ones your new web host has supplied - or should have supplied in this case.

Within a day or two of submitting the new nameservers, your domain should then point to your new account.

The only real issue occurs when you don't have access to your domain's registrar. If that's the case then you'll have to do a little checking to find out how to get them changed for you.
Usually for a domain registration or domain transfer it will take 5-7 days for the regsitrar to direct the domain to your name server if you're hosting provide a perfect information.

So up to that just wait for the things to settle down.

That is a very long time. 24 - 48 hrs is all it takes for a domain to be either Registered or Transfered, after the process has been initiated.
Hello Mr. Sayad Ali,

To make a domain transfer the following steps are involved:

1. First the domain holder will have to mail the Registrar.

2. The Registrar will mail to the Admin about the transfer.

3. The admin will mail to the domain holder.

4. The domain holder will have to confirm his transfer to the admin.

5. The admin will examine the mail from domain holder.

6. The admin will mail to Registrar to take over the transfer.

7. The Registrar will mail to the host about the transfer.

Finally the domain transfer will be made.

For all the above each step will take 24hours.

Then why not the transfer will not take 5-7days.

It will surely take 5-7 days.

Hello vanitha,

All the procedure that you have mentioned from 1-7 are stone age process. All the registrars today have a control panel where in the User can directly login and do the changes. It takes minutes to execute the process and then 24-48 hrs for it to reflect over the net.

If you are in India and are putting forward your experience with Net4domains then i shall agree, else not

Enjoy !
I to agree with MR.Sayad Ali...

Since for the domain registration or transfer it may take 2-3 working days only......

the process of 5-7 days are all old type one which are all outdated now......
