Hello all,

I will soon be selling "high end" fiddles via the internet and I need help selecting a web host. I will have about 30 insruments in inventory, each instrument with 3 or 4 pictures, I will have a dozen mp3's TOTAL (not each instrument) about 40 seconds each.
No shopping cart and I will be using Paypal.

I need your help deciding how much space I might need and also amount of transfer (I absolutely have no idea, if you know of a site wich will give me some kind of an idea that wil be great)
And of course, if you have suggestions for a host that will not break the bank and will be enough for my needs bot not waaaay beyond them that will be excellent.

Also, what should I look for in the description of services which will allow an idiot like me to work on the website without a lot of headaches? I know template is one. Anything else? is there an other name for template?

Well...Thank you for your help. Steve

This forum I believe has many reputable hosts that will be able to serve your needs. However this is not the request forum and although we would all like to make a offer, it will be breaching forum rules.

However, from the sound of it, you won't need to much storage, just enough for the mp3's and transfers, well that can be a bit different depending on how much traffic you bring in and how much download those mp3 demo's.

A template sounds about right. =)
What you might be interested in using is a web designing program called dreamweaver. However it is not cheap and I wouldn't want to recommend it if you will only use if for basic use.

Basically you want a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web designing program as it will be much easier for you.

Another alternative is have a professional web designer do the design for you. =)

At a guess (and a big guess at that), I'd imagine you could get away with an account of a few hundred megabytes of diskspace, and possibly 3-5 gigabytes of transfer.

Considering you're selling 'high end fiddles' it's bound to be a specialized site with a smaller amount of visitors than say, electric guitars.

You should check the terms of service of any potential web host for any rules regarding mp3's too. While most will be fine with them, there are hosts that ban mp3's outright - generally the cheaper web hosts who overload their servers to one degree or another.
I feel around 250 MB Space,
4000 MB BW,

Will be needed to you

More over go for a audio/video streaming supported hosting.

get a webhosting provider that supports .php and at least 1 database such as mysql this is so because .php is much faster than static .html and consumes little resource compared to .html pages, and a database for you to input and type the database entries. that will do. for webspace around 500mb with at least 10gb up.
I feel about 500 MB space
around 6 GB transfer

with 1 mysql database...

with PHP or POSTNUKE support

With audio/video streaming...

will do a better performance...
