How can people get away with having "contests" to try and see how many computers they can break into? I don't understand that. It's just telling them that it's ok to try and destroy something that someone has put together for a service or enjoyment of others.

I guess I am just a person that sees things in a different world.

Well the thing is no crime has been commited and the FBI are probably well aware of the issue and monitoring the site activity.

Once something happens and gets reported they can probably knock on the "hackers" door and arrest them. That is if it is within this country.

If not, it will probably be the countries police if they are willing.

I guess there is a rule that the damages have to be in excess of 5000$ and then the issue has to be reported to the FBI for them to look into the matter.

I haven't heard of large companies getting hacked yet. Plus I haven't heard of any updates on the issues
