Hi,

I'm thinking of starting a hosting business and would like to receive some tips from you.

I'm located in The Netherlands and have just started a freelance projects site. At this site I post webdesign and programming projects which I receive from my clients. As I don't have any webdesigning or programming skills, I now can offer clients these services without really knowing any or have any expensive designers on my payroll. And most members (over 100 in 3 three weeks and still growing) now are from low wages countries.

Thusfar it has been a quite succes. As my little business grows, I am seeking for ways to offer a complete array of services. So the next logical step for me was offering webhosting services.

What kind of reseller plans can you advice me? Should I also read technical documentation? I have a lot of questions...too long for posting them all. I hope I will get your response and get learn from it.

Thanks a lot!

If you receive a resellers account with WHM/cPanel which many hosts offer these days, everything should be self explaintory. =)

I agree - you may just want to find a reseller account that fits your budget and give it a try. There is much to learn but with a system like WHM/cPanel very much is self explanatory like northwindwebhost mentioned.

Most places that offer reseller accounts also have reseller forums and you should be able to get more info regarding your reseller account from there and from other hosts using the same system that you decide to go with

If you want information on cpanel go to their site:

www.cpanel.net

There you will find demos, documentation, etc.

I agree that cPanel is the way to go. The administrative features of this control panel are excellent. If you need any help, just let me know.

if you do however decide to go with a dedicated server.

Make sure you have a background or someone you know has a background of Linux.

If not, and something comes up, your screwed. =)

If you are pretty computer savvy, you can probably pickup Linux by yourself. If not, there are always consultants you can hire on an "as needed" basis.

Dedicated server with the background of Linux is safer and cheaper one......

But you can't offer as much support like windows....

they are few disadvantages, but it's going to be highly cheaper than the windows.
Why Linux server can offer far better futures than Windows server

In Windows they offer ASP where as in Linux they offer apache ASP.

In Windows they offer MSSQL database where as in Linux other database like MYSQL database are all support........

About the server speed Linux server are much better performer than the Windows

The cost is also Linux-cheaper......
