I want to be able to create a database to keep control of inventory on my website which will be submitted via forms and such, however, I am not sure if I want to go about creating my on server and setting it up with this feature, or if this service is offered by other webhosting sites. I need full db access/control. Does anyone have any suggestions/alternatives?

Most hosting accounts with most hosts allow you to setup your and manage your own databases I believe.

Many times you would have a program available for you to manage your databases like PhpMyAdmin as well to make things easy.

Usualy you will get your own database account. We do not share access due to security reasons.

Thanks for the Info, I am currently looking into MySQL DBs. Is this currently the most popular for webhosting?

on Linux hosting yes, mySQL is far and away the most popular choice. While some people feel it has shortcomings compared to PostSQL, the choice is generally one of opinion:
