I have a special hosting requirement, was wondering if anyone can help.
I only need about 2MB of webspace, for 2 months. However, I expect in excess of 1 million visitors in this period, with almost all the traffic from the United Kingdom.
the application is time critical.. the majority of the traffic is likely to be in a 1-2 week window. I will consider a dedicated server, or a virtual account if I can get a *guarantee* that it will handle this volume of traffic with reasonable speed. I'm also on a tight budget, so cost is an issue.
The site is low-graphic and very simple with no scripting / database connectivity, but at this stage I cannot estimate bandwidth accurately.

My budget for this could run to GBP 100 / month (approx USD 150), but ideally I would like it to be lower. I also only require this for January and February 2003 - I have other long-term hosting arrangements that meet my normal requirements.
The main thing is I need to be sure that it can handle the main volume of traffic in a 1-2 week period - each user that doesn't get through costs me.
Most shared hosts seem to have a 'high usage' policy where they will deactivate a site if it's traffic / processing requirements are detrimental to the service as a whole. This would be disatrous...
...so while I'm on a budget my main requirement is a guarantee that the site will be up, handling the volume of traffic for a 1-2 week period.
