Can anyone offer advise on what my next steps should be?

Currently, I have a domain name, website(pages), and server at home. My previous provider (connectivity to the internet) went out of business. I want become my own host and sell space to others.

I have done lots of research, but need assist to help me focus...

The best way to get started is by finding a reseller plan that fits your needs or by getting into dedicated hosting. Be careful of the hosts who give unlimited bandwidth and diskspace, etc.
"Unlimited" is rarely unlimited in this business. Do the research and you will find a plan that suites you.

You need find hosting for your site.

You can do it in these forums or in host directories.

I would HIGHLY recommend colocating a server somewhere that is reliable. You say your server is at home... so I'm assuming you have cable modem or DSL. Running a server on cable or DSL and charging for it could be bad, one reason is if you have a money back guarantee for downtime, you could end up paying out more than you receive. Just a thought! Also, at this time it would most likely be cheaper for you to open a reseller account with someone.

Ive seen a company called RackShack offering what seems to be very cheap dedicated boxes and very low priced bandwidth. Is there a catch with them, or are the other hosts charging way too much?

You could also try here to find what your looking for. It seems strange that noone has mentioned it on this thread. Search at the top of the page or go to the main site at www.webhostdir.com

Just doing my bit for these guys, theyve been so helpful I dont think its fair to leave them out
