I recently purchased several hosting accounts with linuxwebhost.com, and would like to share my *very* frustrating experiences.

My impressions of this company are that they've way oversold - they don't return support emails, there is no way to reach them via phone (that they answer), and their automated account setup and change forms don't seem to report any failures to their support staff, so if it goes wrong you don't know, and they don't know.

They have some serious security problems on their site - it was easy for me to identify ways to compromise the account p***word of anyone who combines .php scripts and mysql database access. They totally ignored my reports of this issue, didn't even say "yeah, we know but we don't care, or we're working on it".

The worst issue is that I registered a domain with them - and I've been trying for 30 days now to get it transfered to another hosting company. They're automated forms don't work to update the information, they have not returned any of my emails, and I feel like my domainname is being held hostage.

They're cheap - and you get what you pay for. Avoid at all costs.

My friend has been with linuxwebhost.com and hasn't had any problems at all. She has been with them for about 6 months but she hasn't needed any tech support. Perhaps they jsut have a back log at the moment or something.

A few months back, I sent them email asking a few questions about their company. I asked 3 times, 4 days inbetween. I am still waiting for their replies...............
