I am at war with softcomca, my web hosting. I sent the last email out to them this morning at 08:27am. Starting about 6:00pm this afternoon, my web site is down and I can't get any emails from their mail server.
What should I do next? Any legal action that I can take?

What are you talking about??? What console page??? What submit button??? This is it. I am taking my business elsewhere. When that happens, I will make sure this story will be posted on every single web hosting newsgroup/forum. Meanwhile, stop that password protection service so I won't be charged further more for something I have never authorized!!

I feel bad for you. We have all been in fights with service providers before, and I don;t necessarily mean Internet. It could be phone, credit card, whatever. Any big company has faceless support.

I don't think you have any legal ground to walk on, 99.99999% of the time hosting companies cover themselves in their SLA's stating they are not liable for more than one month;s hosting cost PERIOD. Is it worth the high cost of an IT lawyer to get your $20 back?

If your that pissed switch companies. I can name a few that I KNOW to be worth using.

hi modus

I felt bad when I read ur story.. sometimes this kind of things happens. in everyway of life. especially with internet companies. I remember that once upon a time my friends working with softcomca but they changed their hosting company with something else. but I dont remember that they had any problem with them. the reason was a cheaper hosting I guess. whatever..

although I am very happy with my hosting company, they keep insisting on not to answer me especially about one subject and I dont know why. I ve been asking that can you open an account as ".gen.tr" but no answer. I think their server is not suitable to open such an account that must be the reason. only about this sipmple question they make me crazy but mostly I am happy to work with them. they are kind and helpfull to me... I hope yuo can handle your situation in your favor soon. please tell us how you succeed it later. ok?

bye

akashik
sounds to me as if your host needs to sit back for a second and read their support questions instead of firing blindly. Miscommunication is easy enough online without people actually reading the question.

Sorry to jump on this secondary issue but:

emancipation:

Are you looking at having a domain with the extention .gen.tr hosted? (as in domain.gen.tr)
If so then I doubt you can have it hosted elsewhere. .tr appears to be the country code for Turkey, with the gen in front of it being the domain. Anything before that is a subdomain of that domain. While most hosts will easily be able to host domain.tr, your extention will probably prove to be impossible outside their network.

Note: I may be wrong about this and it might turn out to be the same as .co.uk for example.
