STRATO, Europe’s second largest web host, has been awarded the Berlin Environmental Prize for Commerce and Innovation, one of Germany’s leading environmental NGOs, honoured STRATO for its ecological decisions and dedication to climate protection.

The Berlin Environmental Prize distinguishes outstanding, ideal and unique achievements. As a company, STRATO actively discusses climate protection and encourages people to care about the environment and as a result of its ecological stance has been awarded the prize.

STRATO has not only increased its energy efficiency significantly but the company will also power its data centres with NaturEnergie AG’s renewable hydropower energy from the upper Rhine as of 2008.
