CFDynamics, a ColdFusion web hosting company, today announced their hosting of Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Event Finder/Builder that will allow participants to find reading events being held in their communities on the record-breaking day, September 20.

“We are pleased to be hosting the Event Finder/Builder on www.readfortherecord.org and wholeheartedly support Jumpstart’s mission of early childhood education and literacy,” said Jason Egan, Vice President of Customer Relations for CFDynamics.

Rob Zeaske, Jumpstart’s Senior Vice President of External Affairs, said that it is crucial that they have solid, reliable web hosting to support the enormous traffic they expect to have in the next two weeks.

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record is a national campaign to encourage hundreds of thousands of children and adults to read the same book, The Story of Ferdinand, on the same day, September 20, 2007. The goal of the campaign is to raise public awareness about the early education gap that exists between income levels. Jumpstart’s campaign will raise funds to support the organization’s programs, which serve preschool children from more than 60 low-income communities across 20 states.

The campaign will create the largest “shared reading experience” ever by breaking the record set on a single day in August 2006, when 150,000 people read the same book across the country as part of Jumpstart’s Read for the Record inaugural campaign. Shared reading experiences can range from an adult and child reading in their home to big group events with hundreds of people gathering at public facilities for large community reading sessions. Last year, Jumpstart’s Read for the Record raised more than $500,000 to support the organization’s early education work in low-income communities.

The campaign will be headlined on the Today Show and will feature celebrities, including Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira, reading to children. Similar events with adults reading to children will be held across the country.

Zeaske explained that anyone interested in participating on September 20 can go online to host or find a reading event. “The number of hits on our website is just skyrocketing,” said Zeaske.
