Hey guys, i have a question to ask of your brilliant minds!

I found this company called PointServ (http://www.pointserv.co.uk) and i want to know if the prices they are offering are fair. I am usually based on a US host, and i know prices in the US are a hell of allot cheaper, than in the UK. However i also know that UK cusotomers, don't like the loading times on US sites.

They also do this 50% off the first month thing

Can anybody say if their prices are OK? I am just not sure what's good any more.

I think they are a new company, but a couple of my mates host with them, and they say they are good.

Ive never heard the name but of course that means nothing. There are new hosts that pop up daily. A quick look at their site looks like they are offering unlimited bandwidth. That would throw up the red flag for me.
Dirt cheap pricing, unlimited bandwidth usually opens up to TONS of accounts on servers which in turn leads to servers that are really "overloaded" with accounts.

I would suggest running the name through www.google.com and also check www.webhostingtalk.com and see what kinds of reviews come up.

ALOT of UK companies may have their servers located in the US anyway so you may want to verify "server location" with them.
Our UK clients do just fine, with everything based in the US.

I have been with them for about 2 weeks now and for the last 5 or 6 days ( i have lost count) their service has been down. I was told by them that their uptime is great, which is why i moved away from my old host. and now i am regretting that move. Aparently part of the delay is that they are waiting on a part "being shipped from america" to fix thier server. no redundancy? so all in all they are Dire. and Bilsta is part of the owners of this "company".

Well hopefully you can get a refund and then just move on to another host.
Self promotion isnt allowed here and a company that "ACTS LIKE" a customer when indeed they are an owner....well that should speak volumes about the company!

Now that's a dirty little trick Bilsta.
Pretending to be a potential client just to get a few hits, the average CPM is cheap these days -- try some proper advertising!
