Maybe its time to move to a host that offers daily backups for your site. i no this has saved my customers sites a few times. In the changing world of technology in this day no site or system can be 100% secure as there are people out there who will allways find away to get round security.

I can feel the pain. Fisrt login and edit the admins privilages. Also take the site offline.
If you have the administrator password, these should be easy. Look up for his IP ban that also. All these can be done from vb control panel.
Then talk to your host and replace from the latest backup. Change the admins password and block his IP again, immediately after restoring.

What OS were you running when you got hacked? It may be time to consider getting some management for that server to ensure your server is updated regularly and a vulnerability scan performed too.

I agree.
In order to not encounter these type of issues you need to make sure that your software is up to date.
Perhaps a management service would be required to make sure this is done regularly for you.
