Best bet would be to find a hosting provider with a good support department period, all hosts should be able to provide forum solftware, or the ability for you to use your own. But its always difficult to find a hosting provider that will support there client even though they say they will.

<mod snip -- no self promotion>

At the same time, visit other hosting providers chat with them, ask questions, this way you can compare some hosts to others to get a good feel on what they are capable of providing.

Hope this was helpful.

Just make sure your new hosts support PHP, MySQL (most do) but this would be a good pre-sales question BEFORE signing up somewhere.
Also some hosts may offer the one click installs of various forum software.

You must also take into account what type of servers a host has. I would suggest checking the company's web site to see if they list their network equipment. Forums can be very server intense - thus could cause an unexpected outage if you go with a company with weak servers.

Hope this helps --Good luck!

For forums, I would say a good host would be one that allows backups at daily or more intervals...Should a server go down, you want to make sure there is a backup, otherwise you could possibly lose alot of information..

Also, Fantastico is a great tool for automated installation of many tools, including forums...

Fantastico provides some brilliant options for forums. alot of my clients rest assured by the daily backup features on our systems.

Forum sites should be backed up daily as a must they change all the time especially in a large community

Any good host should do. Dont think much of forum, just look for a good cpanel based host.

These forums are becomeing place where some people come post something to see their signature and then go. The guys who posted this has its own web hosting service but wants someone else to host and configure forum for him. Actually hi doesn't... just posted to get his signature stuck here.

I don't see any sig for the OP Mod must have removed it....
Regarding Forum software most host provide it and you should always go with a host who will do daily backup for your account.
Try to get host who offer you Fantastico which is a one click installers for many popular scripts (including blogs, content management systems, shopping carts, forums and more!).
