Hi Im Clark.. I'm new in this forum. I decided to join so i could have a better background on web hosting. Can anyone help me on deciding in which web host is the best? I'm planning to go for Globat. I would need some help with regards to the requirements. I have someone to design my site but the decision on picking the web host would depend on me..Can anyone assist me on this?

SIMPLE SUGGESTIONS FOR MEMBERS!

When looking for hosting keep these simple suggestions in mind:

BEFORE SIGNING UP:
1. READ a hosts terms of service.
2. READ their money back guarantee policy
3. Send a few PRE-SALES questions to them via email and see what type of response you get.
4. Look for client/user reviews/testimonials about their service. Check their own website for the reviews, their own community forums if they offer them, and also forums, directories such as this one. Follow up on ALL information you can gather.If time permits contact some of their clients and get the latest feedback and what their opinions are. ASK for some references, if none are published.
5.AVOID hosts that offer unlimited disk space, bandwidth offers. Its another marketing ploy to gain business. Horror stories are everywhere of clients that end up having their site suspended due to using too much of those unlimited resources!

MOST OF ALL ask questions of your potential host. Everyone has different needs in the way of features, pricing, etc. If you dont find #1 and #2 above in your potential hosts offerings, I suggest you look elsewhere!

I think its going to depend on what you want from your host and Im not sure if you've done any research at all on globat? There are plenty of reviews on this company.

Have you already signed up for globat? Have you tried midphase?

Just make sure you qualify a few web hosting providers before you go through with a decision, its always best to have a handful of questions, its not always best to get the best price, sometimews you will get what you pay for and the nightmare stories of clients having to switch hosts cause there current host is %^&%^& them never gets old..

So please just make sure you qualify a few hosts before choosing 1.

This wasnt very helpful, but i just want to open your eyes up alittle wider and make the choice alittler harder ;-)

I would be a little dubious over a web host that claims they can offer you 1000GB of webspace for $6.95. I have in no way had experience with Globat and as far as I know they are a good web host but I would recommend reading the terms and conditions. I am not sure what the theme of your website is but If you have chosen Globat with plans to build a large website containing video, audio files etc I would send a few pre-sales questions. You do not want in 6 months down the line to be told you are using your account against their policy and have it closed.

Also the other points made in this thread are very valuable and should be taken into account.
