WebHost Automation (www.webhostautomation.com), Producers of the Leading Windows Webhosting Control Panel Helm 4, are Well Underway With Their Hunt for the Best Concept For a New Module.

The search has drawn a high level of interest from developers, especially with the sweetener of a first prize worth $500. Open until the end of February 2007, the competition is run via the WebHost Automation forum http://forums.webhostautomation.com...ead.php?t=19199), where the best idea for a new module contributed this month will receive the top prize, payable in vouchers to the entrants preferred site or shop.

The competition is part of a wider promotion for the upcoming release of the Helm Development Program and the Helm 4 Module Marketplace, which aim to extend the capabilities of Helm’s modular approach to webhosting. After the Helm 4 Control Panel had its launch with the help of Microsoft in November 2006, it revolutionized the architecture of control panels.

While the core is still maintained by Helm, the ability to create new functionality is completely open source, allowing users and developers alike to design their own modules, share ideas and even create new products and sell them. And the producers are now looking for thoughts on the best directions to take it in – from the very people that use it.

"We want to ask hosts what modules and functionality they would really want to see and what directions they would like to see Helm go in, or even just for their wider thoughts and inputs," said Mark Hall Founder and COO at WebHost Automation Limited.
