only personal checking and call back for verification if the order is likely to be fraudalent

i not really get ur question.

is it happen before or after fraud?

if before, then basically u need to use good merchant account provider like worldpay, or verisign. with strong verification.

if after, then u r basically at 'lost'.
if the credit card company filed an dispute, not likely u will win. the cost is quit high to clear the case. can be $45

1- I am checkcing whois info of the domain.

2- If domain not registerd, I create web hosting account and suspend it immediatelly after requesting customer to register it.

3- If domain is registered, I create web hosting account and suspend it immediatellyafter requesting the customer to change NS records.

4- I enable accounts only when they start resolving to our NS.

By above method, you can check the fraudulent activities in a much better way and avoid misuse of services.

I have almost 33% customers who have not paid attention to my requests so far. Interestingly they have not asked for refunds also. Probably, the card which they used were stolen and guy did not bother to check where he paid $10

Lastly, you cannot stop refunds. If you will not refund, they will go for charge back.

a good suggestion is to use a good payment portal - I find PayPal a goodun and they're familiar to clients too

Wow...there's a lot to think about here, but it all sounds good.

I haven't been a big victim yet, but that's probably because I insist on a little civility. While I do have automated sign ups, I don't have instant activation. I like to look at the order and all its details before setting anything up.

Yeah, generally what has been posted here. I always send an email to the paypal address and wait for a response, also make sure it matches the address they register with. No instant activation, too many people can get out 20k emails in no time. There are settings on your server that can help but if your a reseller then your stuck.

Also a phone call always helps!

I do just about all of the above. For dedicated servers, I call the client before I set it up/order it. Another thing that helps tremendously is we use MaxMind's MinFraud. We get maybe 1-2 a month.

we had a order from this person who never responded to any of our emails and never really updated her name severs, and she kept her account with us for abt 3 months and then changed her CC info and now shez missing, so we will be canceling her account soon.

some people buy hosting for fun it seems lolzz

I use 2 methods of validation, maxmind to help detect fraudulent orders, such as credit card and billing address not matching as well as ip address to country location NO PROXY allowances etc, its a very good tool for checking all areas where fraud is likely to happen, also i use the maxmind phone verification - if the order comes up as fraud it gives my client / visitor a chance to authorize the order, for example if they punched in the stolen credit cards phone number, the automated phone call will call it, and the user is redirected to a page were they have to punch in a 4 digit number if they dont enter this number the order is canceled auto matically.. this works cause most fraudlent orders are using stolen credit cards filling in the stolen credit card info and address and phone number.. 99% get stopped at this point.

Just so you know kurbot.com receives about 6/10 orders fraud, i guess the more traffic you are pushing the higher the chances.. but ive noticed that most countries like africa, nijeria algeria etc are the main source of fraud orders, so i have blocked those countries entirely from even being able to view kurbot at all..

by rejecting these HIGH SPAM related countries, i have cut down fraud orders to 1 out of every 10.

have i by chance blocked a few lagit orders out of africa? nigeria? and algeria? im sure, but that is something im willing to deal with cause in the end its not worth it, and 1 or 2 orders for the 100 attempts of spam and fraud is worth not serving thse countries.

I hope this has helped.
