I would imagine that adding a small admin fee would stop the host-hoppers out there. ie. if the hosting cost $50 then the moneyback should be the total amount minus 10% for processing.
In my experience hoppers don't want their hosting to cost them anything.
Be sure to make it clear from the outset though!

This is a tough question, for sure.
We offer a 14-day trial period as I feel that's long enough to get the thing set up and actually run with it for a while. 30 days is too long, in my opinion.
I haven't had any droppers yet, but I'm sure there are some lurking somewhere in my future. Bascially, I'm going forward and not worrying about it. If it becomes a problem then I'll rethink.

UNless a hopper spams or abuses resourses, they do not usually cost you anything. Change your server settings to limit email to a reasonable amount and spammers move on. I also like the idea of changing to something less than 30 days. Even 20 days is a pain for them to have to restart.

One thing that deterred people taking advantage of my 30 day money back guarantee was to put in my TOS that if they cancelled, a charge would be deducted for domain name registration and CPanel flash tutorials. Alot of people see the freebies and take advantage just long enough to get them.
I think in my almost two years in business, though, we have had less than ten take advantage of the 30 day money back guarantee.

The more I hear about this, the more I see that I need to redo my TOS. I try to be a nice guy and so far it's worked, but now that I'm thinking of eating the up front on domains, I need to be able to cover myself.
Thanks!
