I've been wondering if some one would need to get a permit to sell webhosting ?? and if a webhosting would need a tax id ??

hello,

There is no requirement of a permit for selling a hosting packages and at the same time you also dont require any tax i.d.

I believe you would like to go for a reseller hosting, make sure your decision does not lead to any kind of regretion.

So take care.

Depends on where you are based. If it is based in the US, then it should follow US tax and permit laws.

There are no permits needed. That's why there are a lot of kiddie hosts

Why no permit is needed? Isn't that a business? So, no tax?

Technically you are required to register your business with your state that you are doing business in if in the United States and adhere to local, state and federal tax laws. In the case of kiddie hosts the only ones that will be affected by them if something goes wrong is the person who has conducted business with them. The issue with them is that in most cases they are not held liable due to their underage status. Which of course is in its own right is completely wrong.

Good Luck!

I believe if you net under 800.00 per month you do not have to report it as income, and therefore do not have to be incorporated or file business taxes.
