Hi,

I haven't been able to work out if I can post this or not. But here goes.

I need advice from people who know (so I thought here would be a good start)

I have paid to be hosted for 2 years with a company. They offered good terms and so on for instance:

Quote: If ordered within the United Kingdom, international orders do not require to pay VAT!

which I still wonder about as they have not been able to give me a VAT number..

Then there is this from their terms:

Quote:
7.1. We shall be entitled to suspend the Services and/or terminate this Agreement forthwith without notice to you If you
7.2. No refunds will be made under any circumstances for Services suspended in accordance with 7.1

So from this we understand they can stop your service at anytime and not refund you ?

They also have now stopped us getting to our website and removed any access.

And incase anyne is wondering, this website is for a gaming community - online games not gambling either - Day of defeat.

So what can I do, they have my money and my website...

I checked Google and I am not the only one with this problem either

AND up until recently they boasted an award for telephone support - however, someone else found this award to be 'dodgy' they basically made it up - and it disappeared from their site!!!!

I did not post their name as I think that DOES infringe on your forum policy.

Please can someone tell me who to complain to as I cannot find a governing body for the internet.

Many thanks

Ken

Hi Ken,

If you are still within their "money back guarantee" period, ask for a refund.

Basically, they will terminate a user account if your site found to be compromising the whole server resources or a victim of a hacker attempt site.

Gaming websites require lot of server resources. So it will be better if you move right now to dedicated web hosting with a US-based web hosting company. This will solve all your problems.

Find a better host. You should prepay yearly at most for webhosting.

It was not a very good ideea to sign-up for 2 years, despite the price discount (if the case). The shortest period is the better.

I agree. Definitely ask for refund. What's your host's name? You should look for other clients who got into the same situation at other forums, like WHT and consult them.
And what made them stop you using their services? Iа you used too much traffic, they could suggest you upgrade.
