Well they at least acknowledged your transfer request, in my case they have ignored the many requests for suppor that I have sent them.

Has anyone actually been successful with UK2.net? They have been very forthcoming with words, but zero when it comes to action. Same with another.com. Still, I am waiting for my domain to be transferred. I have emailed the nameservers of my new host many times, but just bs responses. Is there nobody you can report this to? Surely this is against some sort of law?

I live near canary wharf and i took a peek
and i am very sure no one like another.com rents or is the owner of the place
well believe me or not you can try checking the register for the present tenant or the landownerassociation for leads to finding the owners name to the adress and calling the neighbouring offices etc if they know something
i am sure you could find out if you had time and were persistent enough
well it could be a good adventure if ya like these sorta things that that a lot when i was younger just see how far you can get i mean put yer heads together contact each other trough pm etc and see if you can come up with a descent and viable strategy

if ya don`t well sorry to say just shouting on a forum hoping someone with a miracle answer is going to come a long isn`t going to do you any good, for all sakes i hope your domains aren`t expiring cause chance is they won`t be so courteous as to automatically trenew them for you but i could be wrong though

check domaintools.com do the ip resolve for their domain name and then do a reverse dns lookup which will tell you all the domain names hosted on theirservers at this time...
it will also tell you if the guy ferff 1223 brother was taliking to was speaking the truth

My brother-in-law who is much more savvy than me looked at the who-is thingy and found a number to call. Unfortunately, the guy I spoke to there said that they did not have the name server and that who ever does has not updated the who is...so that was a dead end...but here's what he sent me, no idea if this might help anyone else.

Well I'm pleased to say that UK2.net transferred my domain to my new host today so I am back up and running full power again. Phew. Damn that was annoying though.

I would advise anyone to email UK2.net, who were responsive and answered all my emails. It took a while to sort it out, but I guess they are busy.

I did email the UK2net folks on Sunday after reading the replies here - no reply from them yet, but am trying to be patient with fingers crossed and all that...good to know that they are making an effort, at least.

Hi All,
My name is Ditlev Bredahl, I am the CEO of UK2.net.

UK2 recently acquired Another.com and we were faced with billing and administration nightmare to be honest. I understand that a lot of another.com clients has experienced problems the last weeks, and I do apologise for this.

We are working very hard to turn the situation around and get things up to speed (setting up a new control panel, new billing platform and new servers (currently you are actually hosted on very old PIII machines)).

This is not something that can happen overnight though, so I have instructed my team to offer all Another.com clients free hosting at UK2.net to ensure that this transition period will be as pain free as possible.

Feel free to contact me directly (Ditlev(at)uk2.net) if you need help with this or anything else related to UK2 or another.com.

Thank you,

Best regards,

Ditlev Bredahl

Hi all,

Found this website today when I logged into my webmail and found I couldn't send mail.

Another.com was bought by UK2.net. UK2.net are listed as being resident in canary wharf, but actually it's a company there called Regis and another/uk2 are a virtual client. Basically Regis only handle the post. Regis won't dish out a number

Thought people might like to know who to call to at least try and get any of their issues resolved. Regis are on +44(0)207 712 1500, all they'll do is take your details and 'pass them on' but sadly due to the data protection act you won't get a number from them.

Hopefully someone will get a call from another/uk2, if I do I'll post my results...

EDIT:

They've responded to my support tickets. Sadly the response is not what I wanted and it's too late. I pay by cheque and they are now saying they don't accept cheque payments. Silly them forgot to update the website though so in fact they are still advertising the fact that they DO accept cheque payments, well as of 2 mins ago.

With any luck the next response will be a little more inteligent and professional. Good luck to those that are still talking to the virtual brick wall.

Dear All,

I advise you all to transfer your domains away from another.com / uk2.net ASAP. I paid my subscription to renew my domain in Nov, yet despite countless emails and support tickets UK2.net have let it lapse and I have just now lost my domain through no fault of my own UK2 have simply offered to refund my monies paid which i am finding unacceptable. Someone has registered my domain, so i have lost everything - my website, emails, etc

Thanks
jtownson
PS. I have tried contacting ditlev on three occasions and have not yet had a reply......

Hi again,

I got through to UK2Net and have had a response. They've gone ahead and renewed my subscription for a year. As I have a simple webmail account with no domains of my own I haven't actually lost anything.

Just so people know that they are there and assuming they haven't already left it too late (as with the previous poster) they will endeavour to sort your problems out and should it be that they can keep your domains active there is every chance you'll get a free year.

Obviously if it's already too late then I guess people will move on. www.sonnet.co.uk offer good hosting in my experience. I've had a re-seller account with them for over a year now and the guys there have always been extremely helpful and prompt. So maybe give them a look if you truly have had to give up on another.com
