another.com was sold in August...may have something to do with the problems.

This might be the culprit. But a responsible host should have informed their customers of any change in ownership.

My symphaty to those affected.

Goodl luck!

Hello there

Is anyone else still having problems with Another.com? I have 2 domains registered with them, one is still alright, but the one I tried to update end of September has disappeared. I cannot get any sense out of them, I must have raised a dozen ticketsor more. I have discovered that they have been taken over by UK2 but they refuse to make any comment. What to do? Does any one have any ideas or should one just cut one's losses and pay again with a new company?

To whom can they be reported? Does anyone have a name or address?

sincerely,
Rosy

It's good to see Im not the only one having problems with another.com.
I have numerous sites hosted with them and currently four domains arent working. I chose them because they were so user friendly, telephone contact, solving problems instantly, but this stopped about one month ago. They have answered some of my tickets but only to say to be patient and matters will be resolved. But it is all very frustrating, moving the hosting I can see will be a complete nightmare and something I am reluctant to do, but feel this may be inevitable.

Good luck everyone, Rosy

Just wondering for those who have actually had any reply at all how you went about contacting them as I still am having no luck at all....my site is still OK, but I cannot upload anything new (I get a disk quota error - if I delete something and try to upload something new, same thing - so it's not an issue with being over my limit)...and still no email at all.

Hi
Guy's I am in the same boat as all of you too, I have 20 domain names, and 16 Hosting packages with another.com
All my accounts are over due when try to pay them with worldpay I kept getting a error( Try buyng a new domain name £12 then click pay by worldpay you are given a error number, I have a worldpay account as I sell on most of my site's.
So I contacted worldpay asking why I get this error and why my payment was not getting to another.com and was told that the company another.com is overdue there account by £72.000 and that Another.com has vanished, The office is cloesed.
I know Zen from Another.com he worked on live help & support and told me.
"I went to work after being on holiday to find the office closed, NON of there staff were payed and was due over 3 weeks pay.

You can not change your C/C details and if your account is setup as DD you will be paying for nothing, as from 22nd/nov/06 Another.com will be no more. I cant complain as I am due them over £400 but lots of other people are going to lose there money.

What I would do is stop any payments coming off by D/D with your bank, back up your website if you have not already done so, save any database info. and just wait till site closes for good I have been with another since 1997 when it was rapidhost, they have been really good but I knew somthing was wrong about 4 weeks ago.

Contact zenit@hotmail.com this is the guy I knew who worked for another.com
"please do not say I sent you to him for answers just make on you know him from livehelp at another.com " as he was pretty open about giving out help away from another.com for a small fee.

As for the domain names if you are on auto re-new then you are in some deep crap.
If you are not on auto re-new you can still get your domain.
Here is whois info.

and click acquire it for me button the domain will sell for £5000 put a bid in for more than £6000 to broker@sedo.com and you will get the answers you are looking for they are taking every penny before they close for good on 22nd/nov/06.

Hope this helps you guys.
And I know the feeling I just backed up all site's + database's for the sites.

For all those can still use there site they will drop 1 by 1 unless they sell servers get the most out of it now before they go.

I've had trouble with my site for about a month or so (broken links everywhere, email down, ftp not working). Each time, I have launched a ticket, and have received a response and the problem has been resolved. The last time this happened was 24th of October, but my site has since messed up again, and so far (although it has only been a day) there has been no response. Will have to wait and see I guess.

Same problem with loss of site and email as from the yesterday.

Of greatest concern is the loss of my email address and emails. Does anyone know how this can be recovered quickly if at all?

Well I am glad I came across this forum and that it is not just me, however it is a pain as it confirms what I had suspected.

Sadly I cannot access the FTP part of my site so cannot download any of the files which are generated on the host itself, namely the database.

Anyway I have found out some other information by using traceroute to find out where my site was actually based. Apparently it was hosted by www.cobaltnetworks.co.uk on a server there. I have contacted them to see if they can provide further information.

Also Another.com is registered to an address in Canary Wharf, however on Alexa.com the following details come up:

People who visit this page also visit:

Contact Info for another.com:

another.com Ltd
Unit 522, Highgate Studios, 53-79, Highgate Road
London, NW5 1TL , ,

UNITED KINGDOM
+442078135001
domainadmin [at] domainnamesales.co.uk

I have not tried the phone number as yet.

Does anyone know who took over another.com? They were reasonably ok to deal with until the start of this year, then it all went downhill a bit.

Cheers,

rod

Thats the basis of it they are finished gone with no re-turn no one will take over the company with over £72.000 dept unless they never knew but no one will invest that kind of money without a profit check.
As for www.cobaltnetworks.co.uk it's nothing to do with them there contract is just for hosting another.com

Please read...................................

The reason for contacting Cobaltnetworks was to see if they planned to keep any of the services running to give me time to download stuff from the site. However it seems bit by bit the services are disappearing. Fortunately I have backups of most things, so it should not be a problem. Its just anything which has happened in the last few days which I dont have.

I have had similar problems over the past month.

I registered a new domain with them in September 2006 and have only had problems. Domain still not registered (not surprizing by the sound of it).

I have talked to worldpay and they have said payments have gone through to info@tspeak.com (20th October 2006)

I haven't contacted this email address yet but will let you know how I get on.

I have another domain that is still working and the email is working for that domain.

As for support, I recieved my last communication on 2nd November 2006, although they did not fix the thing they said they had. In fact they had not done anything, They did respond though!

I'm really fustrated with the whole thing.

I have asked Another.com to change the TAG to another provider, I hope they will still do this. My other provider is set up and already to recieve the domain they are just waiting for the TAG change.

The registrar Nominet can change the TAG for £10 if there is a problem with a host. See this link http://www.nominet.org.uk/registran...eagent/faq/#why

I'm going to give another.com until Monday or Tuesday to change the TAG. If there is no response I'll just ask NOMINET to sort it out.

I'll keep you all posted.
