Hi
Just joined the site as I am hoping someone with more experience may advise me Ito what to regarding the following problem.

I bought my first domain name with webspace a couple of years ago from another.com and left a simple marker page there. Five days ago, I tried to upload my finished site, only to find that I was only allowed 25MB space (my site is just over 100MB). So I tried to contact them to upgrade and find they have completely disappeared. The telephone contact is just a recorded message telling users to send an email. I have sent countless emails from different addresses and none are being answered. I have used their ticket system (six tickets raised so far) and not one has been answered.

Does anyone know if they have gone out of business or just have appalling customer service ?
I will have to move to a differnet webhost but how do I get them to release the domain name if they igonre all attempts at contact ?
And finaly, can anyone recommend a webhost in the UK which has telephone support - I don't want to get burned again, being relatively inexperienced.
Thanks
Marc

I can load another.com too. I hope marcg you don't have any issues with it any more.
Do they really so bad as you've said? Does anybody else have the same poor experience with this company?

Hi there, did you ever find out the problem with another.com? They have left their registred address and the phone line no longer takes calls and they have not replied to any emails or submitted 'tickets' And I have not had email for well over a week and my website has disappeared.

I have the same problem with a domain registered with another.com - I can no longer access the website, or connect to the mailservers. They have not replied to any emails or support tickets, and their phone numbers only go to a recorded message saying they no longer provide telephone support.

Any advice about extracting my domain, when I can't contact them would be appreciated.

We are in the same boat - worse still it appears it is not possible to change the domain hosting without the assistance of the company holding the registration ( unless anyone knows of a way ?? ) who being as they appear to have done a bunk are not answering any communications

I'm having exactly the same problem (thought I was the only one! did a seach of the web for others with this problem almost two weeks ago and didn't come up with anything) - originally registered about 6 years ago and taken over by another.com a few years ago...

yes, the another.com website still loads, but my email has been dead for over 2 weeks, cannot upload files to my webspace (though what was there is still there,at least)...no luck calling (no telephone support and emails to the address they give on their message recieve auto replies saying that due to the level of spam they receive they are no longer accepting support questions by email); their online help is always offline, support tickets raised with no luck.

My brother-in-law who is much more savvy than me looked at the who-is thingy and found a number to call. Unfortunately, the guy I spoke to there said that they did not have the name server and that who ever does has not updated the who is...so that was a dead end...but here's what he sent me, no idea if this might help anyone else.

Cymclt - how were you able to find that they've left their registered address? I assume you have written to them and the letter has been returned? was the address you found:

ANOTHER.COM LIMITED
ONE CANADA SQUARE
CANARY WHARF
LONDON
E14 5DY

I just ordered the company report...maybe I'll write to the directors at their home addresses?

If anyone has any suggestions, would be most appreciated...all we can think to do now is to wait until the domain registration expires and hope to get it back then. FWIW, another.com has had very poor service for at least a year now - sporadic outtages (then they say that they sent an email regarding maintenance - none of which were ever received, etc.) Same thing with my renewal invoice last year - never received it, had to chase them after they shut me down for non-payment of an invoice they didn't send me! Should have moved then...a lesson learned, I suppose.

my husband found this:

another.com was sold in August...may have something to do with the problems.
