It would be much appreciated if someone could recommend ways to locate an experienced Linux System Administrator for consulting and/or full time hosting biz employment.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Please tell me if you want full time and what is pay??
HighRPM
That is to be determined based on experience. I am interested in trusted Forums, Jobsites or other resources for the Linux SysAdmin community.

try to search for companies which can help you out which provide hosting and technical support

use words like "technical support" "24x7 support" and you will surely find few good support companies.

Thanks guys. I need an experienced Linux (and WIN possibly) SysAdmin in the Southern California area for consulting on the purchase of a mid sized hosting company. There would likely also be an opportunity for full time employment following that (for the right person).

I've searched the boards and engines. Can't seem to find a location where SysAdmins are looking for employment (most likely because they're all employed!).

Why don't you try putting out an ad in either dice.com, monster.com, yahoo hotjobs, or even a free one in craigslist? There is always the paper or you can have a head hunter to the work for you. Thats what I would do if I didn't know a good nix sys admin.

I agree with xnsolutions and would just like to add that there is no better way to find employees that through friends and contacts. Depending on how much you're willing to pay there are headhunters that will steal employees away from their current job for you

Another option is going to your local university and getting in touch with the IS or CS professors and setting up an internship to see if there's any talent there that might work out for you.

Actually if you want a good system admin you will have to search out for companies who will help you get the right people.

So try to search for copanies with the right keywords

"technical support"
"24x7 support"
"outsourced hosting support"

etc.

Best of luck and cheers

You can also post ads at Scriptlance.com or Elance.com to look for server admins in your area or near your area.

Hope this helps.

etechsupport.net seems to be one of the best server management company and they also have good reviews at WHT. I think you should give them a try.
