Yahoo! may be ordered to pay nearly $5 million in legal fees and a large sum in refunds to advertisers.

Yahoo! May be set to refund huge amounts to its advertisers back to January 2004.

The refunded amount has not been finalised and Yahoo is currently unaware how much it will need to refund at this time. Yahoo's advertising revenue totalled $9.1 billion from January 2004 through to March 2006, therefore the percentage that Yahoo! will to refund is a relatively low amount in comparison to this figure. Yahoo! will also be ordered to pay nearly $5 million in legal fees.

Yahoo’s Liability is not limited in the agreement that was given primary approval yesterday by U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder in Los Angeles.

The lawsuit has claimed that Yahoo profited from Fraudulent clicks to their advertisers and has not been committed enough to attempt to resolve the problem.
