I am desperate looking for free hosts with unlimited space and unlimited bandwith,..It has to have got CGI, PHP3, and supporting my own cgi stuff so i can set-up myself)

i looked at TicidBlue, it seems great to me only 20$ a year, but is that all?? no further fees?? i hop somebodey can answer that question,

That'll be your best bet to find something. A quick mention though. *If* you manage to find what you're looking for be sure to read their 'Terms of Service' very closely. For all practical purposes every single one will have some form of rider about their 'unlimited' amounts - in fact most will offer very little in the way of real traffic, and will probably just delete your account if you stray past the limit.

Without putting too fine a point on it, if you want quality hosting, you're going to have to pay for it. With the crash in advertising revenue from banners and ads most of these free hosting companies are going belly-up, or tightening the strings.

I agree with Akashik. A free host is good to get your feet wet and play around but if you want to build something lasting (ex: a business site or a site to represent yourself professional) and dependable go with a fee-based host.

I saw everything i found,..that TacidBlue is very good,.. no required hits and stuff,..just 20$ a year,..everything is unlimited (spacve and data)..
so check if i am correct (i am only 17 and don't know everything yet)

i`d be carefull with that host who only charges $20 dollars a year! if they really allow unlimited bandwidth and only charge $20 dollars a year they`d go bankrupt.
They didn`t even mention what kind of uptime they have.
You really don`t need unlimited bandwidth, plus there`s no such thing. I host my site at unitedwebhosting.com and they have a 15 gig bandwidth there. That means that you could get over 15 million hits on your site each month. Now i`m sure that`s plenty!
The only price i pay every month for my site is $6.99. That`s it. Plus, if a host really allowed unlimited bandwidth, your site performance would suffer. And it really sucks when your site is down or when it`s so slow that people won`t even bother viewing your site.

I will post some messages here and let you know if this host is a good host (btw Atomic Rhino is a great free host, just one banner, my friends hosts there and they have no problems, only their service is very slow (for making subdomains). So maybe this host is a great host too,..

i went to tacidhost.com and checked it out. How do you know that they`re a reseller? they didn`t look like a reseller site to me at all. Plus if they only charge $20 dollars a year for hosting, they`re defintely NOT a reseller.
So you have a site there now? I`m just curious, is their uptime good? Jeez, that`s a really good price. But i wonder if they`re really any good. that seems way too good to be true. do you have a site url so i can check it out and see what it`s like on their servers?

No suprises for me here... Their 'unlimited' policy is not unlimited at all. As they don't offer a concrete figure for they consider "may jeopardize server performance and resources for other customers", this may indeed be as low as 1 gig. They then have the option to terminate your account without notice, within 24 hours, with no refund (as you would have broken their terms of service).

An extreme version yes, but within their 'rights'.

Generally speaking most unlimited hosts will at least give you a figure buried somewhere in their TOS so at least you can keep an eye on your usage.

They also claim to host 400 000 websites. This not only makes them *by far* the largest hosting company in the UK, but one of the largest in the world. As I'd never heard of them until this thread I very much doubt that claim.

Their link to a listing at hostsearch shows some pretty erratic reviewing (which often indicates a bit of ballot stuffing).

Other than that? Well for 20 bucks you can't really go wrong I suppose..

only the index page and the forum is there,..

they;er really fast... I heared from the guy himself that he was a reseller,..they have servers working for them,...
they run all kinds of stuff,..(hosts)

they support is not optimal,..because they are with 6 people,..so it still needs work..ut we members willl help eachother out... I provides script,..(too bad it runs not php,.but its coming)

their uptime is almost 100%

i`m 100% sure that they do not have 400,000 customers! that`s for sure.
But I just emailed them to see excatly at what bandwidth limit they would terminate your site at. I`ll see what the response is.
Also, guitarboy. if you just signed up at tacidhost your going to have to wait alot longer than a day to really see what their service is like! You said earlier that your new to webhosting. Well i`m not, and i`ve been screwed over by a few hosts already.
So check your site several times a day for at least two weeks. If your site`s never down and speed is fast, email me (or post here) cause then i`m very curious about how they can offer such good service for only $20 bucks per month. oh yeh, and i was just reading their forum board thing they have over there. Yes, i saw that one of the posts mentioned that the owner of tacidhost is a reseller. i bet he has all his clients site`s on some other companies server. That`s not a bad thing. darn it, i`m just curious as to how they can offer such low prices.
