I was in a forum about domains and read that some company is selling domains for $1 tomorrow.

Does anyone know what the deal is?

so strange , but i have some experience with cheap domain

netfirms.com offer domain for about 5$ , i tried once , but it was a big mistake , no support at all,
the domain to work it requires about a week , later to transfer it to another registrator , it took two weeks because they do not have time to support their business.

live well

I have seen some companies offer domain names for free for nothing in return.

Usually, if it looks too good to be true, it generally is - always get your domain names from reputable comapnies you know you can trust.

Its usually part of a promotion. For instance we have $3.95 domains available (and I am not advertising, just making an example) but it is for customers who host with us and ONLY for new domain names. Transfers cost more, at least that's my experience. Think "cheap" domain is really an odd phrase. A domain is a domain. Its the support you give it after the sale that makes it good or not. So yeah you can get a cheap domain and then have it be a quality domain, if you get my drift.

Ive seen a 99c offer but normaly these are something like 99c then $20 for renewal.

Anyways you get what you pay for in the end.

Some companies to this kind of discounts if you buy webhosting from them as well. Generally domain prices is included in the hosting price but you think that you buy domain for $1.

Nice marketing strategy though

It's usually some kind of a marketing ploy, so just be careful with what you're doing.
