Servecentric, Ireland's largest data centre, has announced the launch of Emailcentric, a fully managed, outsourced email service, aimed primarily at SMEs.
Emailcentric facilitates business continuity and removes the financial and time-consuming strain of mail server downtime and lost emails. A key feature of the service is the strict spam and virus filter, which affords the highest levels of protection from unwanted email.
With over 75% of all business communications now taking place electronically, availability of email is crucial. Lost messages contribute not only to lost business, but also to potential legal and regulatory issues. Emailcentric utilises a double layer backup system to ensure that emails are stored in accordance with the latest Irish and EU legislation on the retention of electronic data.
Emailcentric is very cost-effective at EUR10 per user, per month. The service allows companies to transfer information safely and delivers the highest standards in reliability, security and scalability as volumes of email grow.
Servecentric hosts highly resilient mail servers at its Dublin data centre. To take advantage of the secure managed servers, customers simply request that their domain name provider points their email records to Servecentric's server. Users then access their email through Outlook or web based client in the usual way. For many SMEs, this will also remove the storage and archiving issues that large volumes of emails can create on their company servers. "
