Global travel e-commerce leader Worldspan, L.P. has marshaled several of the travel industry's leading Web technologies into a robust product portfolio called Worldspan Web Works.

The Web Works collection offers airlines worldwide the same sophisticated, consumer-driven travel technologies powering the majority of the largest travel sites on the Web today. Worldspan introduced the portfolio name and multi-product usage incentives here today at the Computerized Airline Sales and Marketing Association (CASMA) 2005 Annual Conference.

"In today's environment, airline-branded Web sites without the most flexible shopping and advanced booking capabilities are missing out on the best opportunity to build a powerful online revenue stream," said Ninan Chacko, Worldspan senior vice president - e-Commerce and Product Planning.

While each Web Works solution stands alone, all integrate fully to offer airlines every solution needed to build a state-of-the-art travel booking Web site. Solutions are available to airlines on an affordable subscription basis, and increasing cost efficiencies are offered to airlines that choose to employ more than one.
  • Worldspan FareSource(SM), one of the global travel industry's most comprehensive and accurate fares and pricing systems, is the first solution of its kind to provide 13 months of historical fare and rule data and 100 percent dynamic processing of automated rules.
  • Worldspan e-Pricing, the global standard in low-fare search technology, is built upon the GDS industry's first multi-server-based pricing platform, integrating pricing and availability into a single, highly scalable productivity tool. E-Pricing has processed more than two billion transactions since 2002.
  • Worldspan Rapid Reprice®, the industry's first ticket repricing technology, helps airlines grow revenues by collecting an average of $215 per ticket reissue. It was also first to integrate 13 months of historical fare and rule data into the repricing process, including data from multiple Airline Tariff Publishing Company (ATPCO) fare and rule categories. Nearly 40 million transactions have been processed since 2001.
  • Worldspan Rapid Reprice Select breaks new ground as the first all-in-one shopping and itinerary repricing solution, combining key components of e-Pricing and Rapid Reprice. In one entry, it finds five low-fare itinerary options and completes rebookings instantly.
  • Worldspan E-Ticket Technologies are quickly-implemented, industry-first solutions that get airlines up and running in as few as 90 days, and allow them to meet immediate and forthcoming industry demands one incremental and cost-efficient step at a time.

"Worldspan also leads the industry in offering the first intelligent approach to online airline shopping and availability," Chacko added. "We use an industry-exclusive combination of intelligent inventory caching and availability, representing another revolutionary advancement in travel distribution, shopping and booking proven in reducing and even eliminating online sell failures."

Worldspan is the leading developer of e-commerce solutions for the travel industry and the world's largest transaction processor for online travel agencies year-over-year. The company provides technology for approximately 50 online travel agencies and suppliers, including four of the world's largest travel Web sites. Globally, Worldspan processed 64 percent of all global distribution system (GDS) online airline transactions in 2004.
