Developer Shed is producing and hosting a weekly show that takes an irreverent look at technology-related news, as well as offering informative and educational video tutorials for developers.
Developer Shed, home of a family of Websites that provides “Tools for Geeks,” has added two exciting new services for its visitors. Tech News TV is a weekly webcast that takes a brief, irreverent look at some of the technology stories making headlines. Developer Shed is also offering free video tutorials that explain to programmers how to develop applications they will find useful for solving some of their day-to-day problems.
"We call it 'News You Can’t Use,'" Developer Shed CEO Jon Caputo said about the weekly news webcast. The five-minute newscast, read by the lovely and talented Kim Keyser, delivers real news with attitude. "Our editors comb the news for the kind of stories that make you wonder 'what is going on here?' and serve it up in a way that will make you think, and may even make you a little angry." "We started the video tutorials because we know not everyone learns in the same way," explained Rich Smith, Developer Shed CTO. "Some people learn well from reading, but others learn better from an audio and video presentation of the material." The five-minute video webcasts are based on Developer Shed’s own excellent articles covering areas such as open source and enterprise programming, Microsoft-related technologies, website design and development, working with hardware, search engine optimization, and web hosting.
