Vancouver-Based Domain Registrar in the Running for Private Company of the Year

The Cascade Pacific Council today announced that Dotster, the Vancouver-based domain registration and web hosting company, is a finalist in the 2005 Technology Awards.

Dotster is a finalist in the category of Private Company of the Year. The winners will be announced at an awards event at the Governor Hotel on November 17, 2005 to benefit the career-oriented coeducational programs of the Cascade Pacific Council.

The Private Company of the Year award is based on excellence in people, performance, and contribution. The application process reviewed everything from employee satisfaction to technological innovation to contribution to the Pacific Northwest's high-tech industry.

"We're honored that the Cascade Pacific Council has chosen us to be a finalist in the 2005 Technology Awards," said Clint Page, CEO of Dotster. Page also praised the other finalists: "The Pacific Northwest is home to many innovative high-tech companies, and we're proud to be recognized among them."

With nearly three million Internet domains, Dotster is one of the largest ICANN-accredited domain name registrars in the world. Launched in 2000, Dotster was among the first to offer long-term registrations and discounted pricing. Customers now turn to Dotster for its ability to deliver marketable domain names through its proprietary Domain Discovery System and NameWinner auction service.
