Best of luck with the service! Australia has always been in serious need of realistic pricing for hosting for years now. Being In Sydney can only help as well with the pipe out being right there too

Thankyou Greg,

That is exactly right, most hosting providers here in OZ host up in Queensland which means that their data has to travel all the way down to Sydney to take advantage of all the major international links which can only mean one thing more hops, bigger ping responses etc. Thats the primary reason we choose Sydney as our premium point of presence.

I have pasted our peering details below

Cheers,

Samuel Yeats

just saw the last figure sweet. I take it that's the new pipe they laid a while back?

How do you find the bandwidth pricing from providers? I can't imagine it's much of an issue with the sheer amount of providers you have, but I know a lot of hosting companies based here get shafted through it.

I'll be seriously thinking about basing a RAQ with you in the near future if we get some local market interest up. Until lately it's just been too expensive to bother. Would be nice to have when Pao Alto goes pear-shaped as it does every week or so.

We dont have to deal with the providers, lucky me :-D ....
We take advantage of the head C&W Optus data centre in Sydney, we have full access to it as if it was our place.

Ohhh and yeah, man thats a nice connection
We have customers in QLD who can ping us at 0.14ms, they can also ping the biggest host in AU Webcentral at 160ms and they live around the corner from them...

yes I've heard about webcentral's quirks. I remember someone doing a trace from Melbourne and bouncing off Los Angeles before getting to them Still, what's 8000 miles between friends *lol*
