The site I co-admin S-Seriesforum.com looking for a new host ASAP. We have had much sponsor/advertiser interest and hopefully could afford to move to a dedicated server within a month or two as soon as we could afford it. For the time being a shared server would work fine. We use close to 30G of transfer of month and receive over 35,000 hits per day, so we are also a busy site with upwards of 600 active members on our vbulletin forum. Right now our funds are limited, and with some time and the pick up of a couple sponsors/advertisers we would like to expand. Anyways, if anyone can help us with a reasonable hosting package or some type of partnership I am interested in listening to all offers/suggestions either via this forum or by e-mail

Thank you,
Jim

Wow, they all must have way to much business to take your money from you!

Do the rules allow hosts to post their own solutions in this forum ?

S-SeriesForum :
Typically, I've seen people post in the main hosting Q & A forum for hosting requirements - you need specify your storage requirement as well.

These are the kind of dedicated servers that I run. A good package like this from a good host would be around $400-$600/month including 24-7 telephone support and tape backups from one of the big boys. You will find a lot cheaper (especially with running a Linux/Unix OS) but usual rule - check out the quality of the host.

Good luck.

We don't need a huge amount of space, probably less than 400mb will work great. The problem we had with our previous host is that our site used a a ton of bandwidth (just under 30 g a month) and also times when we had 30-40 members on the vbulletin at one time it used up more than our share of the MySQL resources and we would get bumped off.

Once we could get our site up and running again for about a month or two, I am pretty confident we can can raise the money (through merchandise sales, sponsors/advertisers, and member contributions) to move to a dedicated server. What we are looking for now is a host who can at least give us a decent deal and STABLE hosting solution on a temporary shared server and then when we can afford it, upgrade us to a dedicated server.

Well, our membership has stepped it up big time and a nice healthy donation drive is in effect, still no host chosen, looking for more offers. We have funding

Mr Chunder,

this is the ad forum, you're welcome to self promote here It's pretty much exactly what it for.. people can post direct requests and hosts can reply directly.

S-Series,
In most cases the diskspace won't be too much of a problem. 30 gigs is a big ticket item though and a shared hosting provider worth their salt will find it hard to justify for less than what you could get a dedicated server for.

Rackspace has a very good deal at the moment that appears to be one of the best of the net $100 for a RAQ with 150gig

Thanks akashik, I'll look into it!

We've cunningly titled this forum "offers & Requests" just to confuse people.....

Yes you can answer peoples "requests" with any "offer" you like
