I would recommend initially getting seperate plans but on a monthly 3 monthly or 6 monthly basis

This allows you the flexibility to upgrade to say a 5 or 10 domain plan when it becomes financially viable and you won't forfeit money you have paid up front especially if you decide to take the multi domain plan with another host

Get a regular account then later signup for a reseller account and the regular hosting account can be moved into your reseller account and you will not be charged anymore for it. At least this is how we do it with H-Sphere.

I'm new here so I guess this is a good of a place as any to start.

I've just gotten started with a resellers hosting plan about a month ago, and it has created a domain name addiction for me now. I can't seem to get enough of them. It's fun though to have so many web sites!

OR
should I buy a reseller plan...

any ideas??

Find a provider that can house both web sites under one package (add-on) domains. If you want seperate control panel and to keep everything seperate, then reseller plan is the way to go! Hope this helps!

I recommend you to work on this at least 2-3 days.Just search the companies and compare the services and performance and reviews from buyers. Also check cost/quality parameter.

You may find that a reseller package costs about the same (if not slightly less) than 2 individual hosting plans with some companies, and you actually get much more storage / bandwidth / etc.

Check out FidoNet's reseller pages http://www.fido.net/html/pages/resellerinfo/ for an example.

The base reseller accounts are stored on the same servers as ordinary customers (ie the same contention) ... so no penalties.

As you grow you can then look at upgrading to full blown "White Label" reseller (wholesaler) with your own branded control panels, your own name servers, and so on ..

I have been debating the same thing. I'm leaning toward a resellers account,I think you get more for your money that way if you plan on hosting more then one site.

If you are looking to host as many sites as possible for the best price, reseller is the way to go. For just a few sites(1-5) I would suggest a shared plan. Find a host that allows you to buy shared hosting, but then upgrade to reseller at a later date. I would buy for your current needs, but have the option of upgrading easily if needed

I would rather suggest you to go for a reseller plan if you are thinking of having as many as websites in the future as your business increases. As a reseller plan provides you with many useful things such as the main thing be the reselling you earn while you have your own websites as well. The second is that you can create your own plans to siut you at the best. You can customise the plans as per your need. You can create multiple websites in the webspace you own. You get a reseller panel with you account that's the best thing to have your own reseller panel from where you can administer all your sites as well as your clients.
