Contest winners to receive cash and prizes totaling $4,500 in June 22 ceremony at Chicago Cultural Center
WHAT: Hostway Corp., a leading Chicago-based provider of Web hosting and managed technology services will crown the recipients of its 3rd annual "Web Developers of The Future" award. The yearly contest seeks the most talented web designers among the Chicago area's high school students. Through this contest, students are able to hone their creative and web-savvy skills by designing an entire web site completely on their own.
The program is co-sponsored by Mayor Richard M. Daley's Council of Technology Advisors.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 22, 11 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
WHERE: Chicago Cultural Center, GAR Annex room, 78 E. Washington St. (corner of Washington St. and Michigan Ave.), Chicago, IL.
WHO: First place and runner-up winners will receive awards from the contest's judging panel:
- John Lee, VP of Marketing, Hostway
- Michael Krauss, Co-chair of Mayor Daley's Council of Technology Advisors
- Kodi Khadiver, Development and Marketing Manager, Junior Achievement/Chicago
AWARDS: Hostway will present the top winner a check for $1,000 and a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. The Runner-up will receive a check for $500 and a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop.
CONTEST CRITERIA: Schools from the entire Chicagoland area participated. Competing web sites were evaluated by a panel of expert judges on content, structure, navigation, design, functionality, and creativity.
