Here is my true experience with HostingPlex...
My 1Gb account was ending in November 2004. At this time, the company proposed their new COMPLETE offer (5gb) for 3.95/month for 2 years subscription
I subscribed for TWO years without hesitation as I was very satisfied for the service in 2003...
Here is a copy of transaction:

Unfortunatelly, after 6 months and many tickets, phone calls and promises, they still refuse to update my account (upgrade my memory to 5Gb) considering that as a former client I should have to pay more for this offer !!
Here what they answered me :
"The renewal that you performed was for 'SHVALUE' - not to upgrade the account to complete. You can upgrade by going to:...."
So they took my 95 USD and as an old customer they didn t give me back what they give to everybody else.
Maybe I'm a nut but does anyone agree to this way of doing business ?
Of course as the company quickly grew, nobody can be reached directly and CEO (kaumil Patel) no more answer to his mails.

Sorry to hear that, Eric. I am with you as customer. I think the best practice is to treat old and new customers the same way.
If they could not grant you an upgrade, at least you should have your money back.
I hope that you solve the issue with hostingplex.
My only two cents

Sad experience indeed. They are absolutely not honoring their promise. Bad business.

If they offer account cancellation I suggest you do so and receive a refund on the months you haven't used.

That sounds like a terrible experience. I would no longer due business with them.
Perhaps HP could post a response to see what they have to say.

Hopefully you've moved on. I see an identical thread at WHT forums.

Was that a typo when you said a 5GB memory upgrade? I'm interested in finding out the results of this - can you post an update?

Sounds like HostingPlex gave you a raw deal. I will be sure to stay clear of them.
Good luck w/your next account.

Thanks for the heads up
Good luck getting your next package...

Does Hosting Plex post here? Maybe they can clear this up for everyone?

I would suggest moving on. Obviously they aren't going to defend themselves here. I would also see about getting my money back and tell them you are disatisfied with their policies which in turn directly effects their services.
Also, if they give you any gripe, like I advise to everyone, file a complaint through the Better Business Bureau.
