Arizona Company Refuses to 'Offshore,' Opting Instead to Create New Jobs Here at Home
The Go Daddy Group, Inc., parent company of GoDaddy.com, the No. 1 registrar of domain names, today announced the opening of its third call center. Located in Gilbert, Arizona, the new call center will initially seat 450-500 full-time employees, and is projected to reach its capacity of 1200-1400 full-time employees within a year. The decision to locate the new facility in Gilbert was based on the number of existing Go Daddy employees who call Gilbert home, as well as the fact that Gilbert is the second fastest growing municipality in the United States -- and thus, a future source of new employees. Go Daddy maintains two other call centers in Phoenix and Scottsdale.
Asked at the call center's Grand Opening ceremony about his refusal to "offshore," Bob Parsons, president and founder of Go Daddy, replied, "We simply are not interested in moving our call centers (or any aspect of our operations) offshore. Providing the absolute best customer service has always been a hallmark of our value proposition, and distinguishes us from the competition. We will not sacrifice quality just because it might save a few dollars." "In fact," Parsons observed, "our call center operation is highly profitable, and we would lose money if we opted to offshore."
Permanent call center personnel receive a comprehensive benefits package starting their first day of employment. Medical, dental, life insurance and tuition reimbursement benefits are extended to all full-time call employees, as well as a 401k plan, with Go Daddy matching employee contributions. Call center personnel receive continuous professional training and development on all Go Daddy products, and additional training opportunities are available in the areas of management, leadership, and self-empowerment. Ongoing performance-based contests for call center personnel are held daily, weekly and monthly.
"The city of Gilbert is extremely pleased to have been chosen as the site of the newest Go Daddy call center," added Mayor Steve Berman, who participated in the ceremony. "It is gratifying to see a 'home-grown' Arizona business attain the level of success and international exposure that Go Daddy has achieved. Go Daddy is a great addition to our business community, and we look forward to their continued growth and presence."
