Hi guys,
Just wondering,do you use a 3rd party monitoring service or you do it by yourself to keep your website up always
ARTzWeb.net
You could use a tool like netcraft. It can provide uptime data for your web hosting company.

Hello,

We like to use alertra.com as well as a few custom solutions. Alertra is good for documentation if potential customers want to see your uptime record and so forth. Thanks.

Hi,

We use a combination of monitoring services; we have a real time monitor on our website which notifies our support team when it detects possible downtime.

We also make use of a third party monitoring service called SiteUptime who also monitor our servers and send us regular feedback and notices. We also make use of the InternetSeer.com reports which are e-mailed regularly and clearly outline the performance and outages of our servers over the week.

a bignner hosting company they can do it by them selves but theres a time you need to be more professional and share jobs when you handle the administration and monitoring for others and you take care of your clients i think that much better

Our data center actually offers a service where they monitor all ports/ip address of our servers and send in notices as soon as they go down and then another notice when they come back up.
Bandicoot
Hi

At Bandicoot (www.bandicoot.co.uk) we use a combination of internal and external monitors. Internally, we have two IPMonitor servers monitoring servers for http, ftp, smtp, pop3, dns, whois, diskspace etc and they also monitor each other. In addition, we have an external contract with www.server-monitoring.co.uk which monitors key services, plus our internet feed. When there is a problem, SMS alerts are sent to pagers and mobiles.

Hi eveyone,
Thanks for the information. We , ourselves, monitor our site but when ever any server goes down and comes back, get a message from the data center.

Hey Priyanka,

You can use AWStats like web site statistics or Nagios. Nagios is an open source host, service and network monitoring program.

Hope you find this useful..
