Over a month ago, I went to Microsoft's beta tester site and learned I could get Release Candidate 1 , Home Edition of the forthcoming operating system Windows XP. I was charged $20 so I could recieve a disk in the mail. I waited over a month only to receive the Professional version! I contacted Microsoft to resolve this issue. They then proceeded to say that only XP Pro was available. I have discovered that this is a out and out lie, that others have received the Home Edition that I was promised and did not receive. I tried resolving this issue 2 times via email, the final response by them was to get on a forum. So now I will post this at all possible forums. Anyway, last night I received a message to download the RC-2 of XP Pro. As not to be a total loss of the $20 I proceeded to try and download it! At first it started downloading. Since it was late I decided to go to sleep and let it continue. When I woke I found out it didnt complete. I have tried to download it a few times since and get the message invalid login. I have tried to contact Microsoft and have recieved no message. I consider this whole deal an underhanded dirty trick. To go ahead and offer the Home Edition on their site then give me the response they did is also worthy of reporting to the Better Business Bureau. Will be filing the complaint out very shortly!
